Good Glass label head Andrew Horton returns with his new project, Holy Love Incorporated! Informed by a youth spent MTV's "Amp"late at night in a flickering living room and scrounging import bins for braindance CD's, Holy Love Incorporated brings Horton full circle to a time when the world was new. While his previous projects like Young Hierophant displayed a slavish devotion to orthodox tape and analog synthesizer process, A-Side "Spirit Duplicator" is a longform Ambient House shuffler awash in nineties digital ROM sounds and a 12-bit beat fondly informed by a youth chasing Orbital and Future Sound of London records in between trips to Gadzooks for Kikwear and JNCO's. B-side "Amberlith QSL" takes things downtempo to a boom bap-driven trip hopper that can only be the result of ingesting mutagen-level amounts of Coldcut and Tricky records at an impressionable age. Far from a "nineties throwback," Holy Love Incorporated sheds all genre and production orthodoxies in the name of reconnecting with something vital - a lost transmission from a fading future, perhaps.
